Within the Chess Holiday project the Chess for Children Foundation organises entertaining festivals and events for popularisation of chess in the community with the involvement of the press and the public.

During the period of 2012-2019 the Foundation held 16 chess celebrations in various cities of Ukraine. Activities included Chess Days on July 20th, chess quizzes, simultaneous sessions and more. Currently, the project is on hold, in 2020-2023 the events were not held due to covid quarantine restrictions and martial law in Ukraine.

My daughter liked the Chess Day organised by the foundation the most. After returning home from the event and laying out all her gifts, she said: “Mom, they don’t give so many gifts at tournaments, but if you don’t go to tournaments, you won’t learn to play, and you won’t be invited to such events!”. Thank you for the interesting programs aimed at popularising chess among children

The Foundation fulfils a very important function – to popularise chess among the younger generation. Events that I attended – the advanced chess match and Chess Days in Kyiv – were held at the highest level, and young chess players were very glad to take part in the events.

I am very grateful for a wonderful holiday for talented chess children. It is important to support them, you do it very well. The children received not only prizes and gifts, but also a lot of attention! The interviews were wonderful, each child was able to share their dreams and tell about themselves. It is really very cool and interesting! Inspiration and good luck in your good deeds!

Great event! It is wonderful that there are people who support talented Ukrainian children, who not only play chess but also have many other hobbies and do well in school. We enjoyed the atmosphere, the interview with the children, and also talked with our chess friends.
